Kelly's eyes widened at Ian's news, but refrained from asking any questions - it was clear from the expression on his face that questions and further prying wasn't welcome. Instead, Kelly turned to the newcomer enthusiastically - a bit too enthusiastically, perhaps. She held out her hand instead of hugging him - she barely knew him!
And I'm Kelly, welcome.
She greeted, warm tone making up for the rather curt, cold words. She didn't want to make him feel like an outcast, just because she and the others had a bit of history together. In fact, there were so many new members, he would definitely find some close friends..

Ian moved to one of the couchs and sat down, just flat out not feeling too good. His eyes scanned the room's other occupants. Kelly was the only one he really knew, Marc and Aurora he had met in passing, but had never had a conversation with them, nor really gotten to know them. The new boy, Baltasar, looked nice enough. He slowly stood and walked back over to the group, having composed himself now. Very little shook Ian, he was as solid as stone, not letting his emotions get the better of him. Very little in fact even surprised him anymore. Learning you have powers is surprising, but after you realise you're not the only one... not much can surprise you anymore.

Aurora's warm smile remained as she shook Baltasar's hand, gently but firmly and then let go. She listened complacently as Kelly greeted him, unaware of Ian's news about Cat for the simple fact that she hadn't been paying attention to his conversation with Kelly out of politness. It certainly wouldn't have suprised her though if she had known. Frankly, she had thought the girl was a bit crazy anyway. Her thoughts were interrupted suddenly by the pattering of clawed feet, attention diverted towards the doorway expectantly.
Barely a second later, a fluffy white and grey dog came sauntering into the room, curved tail wagging feircely. Eros had grown too since the last time they had been at the temple, and was much bigger and feircer than he had been.Though, of course,he was still also very sweet due to Aurora's influence. Well-trained and behaved, he sat calmly at her feet and eyed the group at large, gaze falling upon each of them in turn. Since he had been only a puppy when they left, he had never really encountered many of the lights for any length of time, except for Marc and Aurora, and it was the sight of his familliar friend that met him as soon as he was settled. Tail wagged happily as he uttered a quiet woof, but being the well-mannered beast that he was, he did nothing else to disrupt or draw attention to himself.
Hand reached down to delicately scratch beyond the dog's ears as Aurora's eyes turned again to Marc. "So..Can I ask how things were while you were gone? What were up to?"she inquired warmly, genuinely interested in her friend's experiences.
((I can still keep Eros, right? If not I'll edit him out of the post.))

He turned from Aurora to Kelly and then shook her hand also, smiling all the while. It is a pleasure He said softly but warmly. He brightened when the large dog walked into the room, he had a special fondness for pets and he missed the hawk he had back home.
It was kind of wierd being here yet comeforting as well, he moved around the room just looking around the place he didnt want to interupt any of the others. It looked like they hadn't seen each other in a while.

(Thanks for that, Cat, ) Kelly turned in alarm as Eros sauntered in, and reached forward to scratch behind the pup's fuzzy ears. No sign of Dakota, which definitely was a good thing.. She was beginning to get bored, standing around, and Aurora's question only sparked an interest to go someplace. Have you all been training? She asked, a bit guiltily, for she knew that she had not. Too many lazy days spent on the couch..

Ian looked to Kelly and shook his head. Nope. I haven't been staying in a place where it would be safe to practice my powers. SOmething was really nagging at him. Ian felt agitated and suddenly very uncomfortable. His hand strayed to his neck, slightly touched a long burn, flinching slightly as he remembered the searing in his head, and her laughs... the last time he had used his powers. His confidence had deflated drastically since then...

Aurora's attention shifted to Kelly as she heard her ask a question to the group. Alittle guiltily, she realized that she hadn't really practiced all that much. Some, yes, but not nearly enough time was spent mastering and improving her skills. She had gained some progress, but not much over the time that they had all been gone. "Some."she responded, still lazily scratching behind Eros' ears, though her gaze skipped sympathetically to Ian as he spoke. He had been further trained in the time that they had been away, but other than that she had been largely unwilling to devote a lot of time to her power, especially out in the open. It was a foolish thing, but that was the way it had been. Her part said, she waited quietly to hear the responses of the others.

Marc gave a small cringe as Aurora asked him a question, and tried to hide it quickly, reaching down to scratch Eros' ears. It had been a while since he had seen the friendly dog, and he had to admit that he did miss Eros. Marc didn't have pets of his own, but he had when he was little, and he had always loved animals. Even strays on the streets were like long-lost friends to Marc. Of course, being a shy little boy that he was so many years ago, it was a good to have friends, even if they were only animals.
About to reply to Aurora, Kelly also asked a question. Thank goodness that his answer to Aurora's would also answer Kelly's. "I have been training.... but..." he looked away from his friends for a moment, trying to look as if he was paying a lot of attention to Eros, trying to calm the vibrant blush that was forming on his face. "I couldn't train much, or really.... I haven't improved that much..." he said softly, taking a glance up at the girls before sighing and looking back at Eros. He hadn't gotten much better in the while that he had been away, which was a disappointment. How could he help, or protect, any of his friends if another orb, or another fight, came up?

He heard Kelly's question and the replies of the others, a common theme runnning through them all he thought, chuckling slightly. He didn't bother to answer himself, it more than likely wasn't aimed at him anyways, more to others that knew each other. Hopefully he could become a member of this group but he wasnt yet, not truly but he would get there, he would train and he would be an asset to the team. But that was in the future and there was nothing he could do at the moment.
Not really knowing what to do with himself he leaned back against the wall again, his mind wandering with no real thoughts, just images.

Ian felt slightly relieved that he wasn't the only one who was out of practice. He felt guilty about not practicing, although he had continued to meditate daily. Ian looked around at his fellow Lights. At least they were not having much of a problem with enrollment. True, they would never have too many, but it was still a good sign. He suddenly felt a shiver down his back and hand grasped his neck, his head spinning again... this was all too familar.

Kelly grinned in a rather embarassed way - she hadn't really been practicing either. It was a good way to kill time, why not? Seeing that none of them had practiced, and Baltasar hadn't even begun to tap into his powers, Kelly doubted that they would have to go anywhere secret. If only Riyan were here.. She was, after all, Kell's co-leader.
If you're all up to it, why don't we go train? THis place has been to quiet..
She suggested, anticipation clearly shown in her sapphire eyes. If it had been someone sensitive, they would have suggested a rest, for it could not have been easy to get to Japan, unless you were Marc, who lived here. Then again, Kell was not known for her sweet sensitivity..

Train? He laughed slightly, what was the point him training? He handt even tapped his powers yet so why bother. He shook his head dismissing the thoughts and reminded himself that he would have to train if he wanted to tap his powers, he could only wonder at what he could do. He sighed and just watched the reations of the others, it would be interesting to see how well they got along.

On. Off. On. Off
The wisps of smoke were the only indecation that there had been fire some where in the area, the only indecation until the flames once more flickered to life, dancing like leaves on a tree as a gentle breeze dusted the earth. With each new puff, flickers of light cast over the slightly depressed looking face of a young woman, though her face was lost to sight as the flames once more went out, leaving her room completly dark. How long has it been? The harsh words echoed through out the inside of her skull, the waves of striat black locks pinned between her scalp and the the wall. The ever looming thought of the temple was once more pricking her mind. Should she return? Riyan didn't even know why the small band of lights had split up to begin with. First, the odds were weighed in their favor, their orbs out numbering the darks', so why did that end? They were winning. And what of the darks now? Had their group faced the same fate? Nothing could be for sure, yet a small tang of hope still lingered deep in side, an ever burning flame that refused to be doused. She had not gone far from the temple, still hoping one day to once more step foot inside her old home.
As the gentle buzz of Kelly's still familiar voice, the girl's sneakers cought the wooden floor of her dorm, pulling her to her feet and towards the door. As her long nailed hand twisted the bronze handle, she ripped it open, the rickety piece of wood almost threatening to snap at the force it was tugged, the handle smacking the wall behind it. Riyan's bare arm went to her brow, covering her eyes from the blazing sun as she hurried to a sprint in the direction of the Light 's main commen room.
As the building came into view, she slowed her pace to not more then a quick walk, her lungs rasping in her chest. The entry to the room came into sight, and the voices of her old friends came into earshot. So Kelly was gathering up the gang? With a slick smile set on her mug, Riyan gripped the frame of the door, doing a slight spin into the room. Once she was in, she saw Kelly surrounded by Marc, Aurora, and Ian. One more was in their company, one she had never met before. In her current state of happiness, Riyan was not about to speak.
)(End rushed! Sorry, I REALLY have to finish my homework and my sister is sitting here bothering me!!!)(
