It was hot and humid, and the day was completely dry. In the middle of the summer, it was bound to be hot, and the heat was just about unbearable. But it was a day that had to be mastered, a day that had to be used to the fullest extent. Not just for the weather purposes, which consisted of nothing but heat and sun.
Marc wasn't meditating today, not in the heat anyways, because he couldn't concentrate with the heat pulling at him. He didn't want to go to the temple, just in case the other lights wanted to disturb his concentration, so he couldn't meditate. He was going to try to practice with his powers, but he noticed in his room one of his bags, a plastic bag holding one of his most prized possessions. The soccer ball, marked in his scribbling penmanship from when he was only nine, that he refused to leave behind.
He was now out on the soccer field, dribbling up and down, feeling the heat and the humidity pulling on him, as he was sprinting like he was in an actual game. Because of the heat, and his excersize, Marc had pulled off his short-sleeved white shirt, and it now laid, folded, on the sidelines. His whole body was moving as he did different excersizes with the soccer ball, sweat covering his brow and his collar bone, but a smile was on his face. His blonde hair was sticking to his forehead, but his blue eyes were sparkling with excitement. As he sprinted towards the nearest goal, he jumped slightly, and the laces of his cleat slammed into the ball, and the ball flew into the net with a glorious swishing sound. He was smiling still, panting and out of breath, but he couldn't get enough of the excitement of being on the soccer field again.

Aurora wandered out to the recreation area, having come back from the orb battle after things had stagnated once Cat had chosen the fighters. She hadn't been one of them, and so had lost interest in spectating when no one had done anything. Catching sight of Marc, she had decided to go and see what he was up to. And quickly noticed his distraction, preoccupation with what he was up to. So, figuring he might not actually want company, she only settled back to watch without a sound.
The heat was uncomfortable, but the humidity bothered her more than anything. There was no water in the air, nothing to pull to cool herself off. But, in a way, the sun felt good to her skin and so she didn't bother to retreat from the heat. Instead, she focused her attention on Marc and watched, captivated.

Marc quickly retrieved his soccer ball from the net, patting the ball gently, before setting it back on the ground. How long had it been since he had last played soccer... by himself, before today, it had been only a few weeks, but with an actual team... Marc stopped walking, unknowingly dribbling the black and white ball as he walked, thinking about when he used to play for a team. A smile had reappeared on his face, somewhat smaller than the one that he had when he had been sprinting, as he thought of starting a team or two here. The light team versus the dark team; he could just imagine Kelly and Josh on the soccer field against each other. Marc started to chuckle, his shoulders shaking lightly, as he tried to hold back his laughter. A tanned hand ran through the spikes of his rich blonde hair, and he rolled his shoulders for a length of time, feeling each individual muscle in his back tense, then release, as they were worked.
Marc suddenly noticed now that his mouth was parched, and being the dummy that he was, he had forgotten water. 'Stupid, stupid, stupid,' he repeated his thoughts to himself, pulling his hand down his face, feeling the sweat roll of his handsome features as he did so. He looked towards his shirt, folded on the sidelines, and then something caught his eye. Somebody had been watching him, and his back tensed up severely as he realized this. But who was it? Marc brought up his hand gently, holding it out in front of him so the fingers were straightened, and then clenched his hand into a fist, summoning the wind. The excersize had given him concentration, and now that he wasn't exploding with energy, he could concentrate better, and his results improved. A sharp burst of wind came at him, covering his bare chest with a cold blast, that he was unsure if he welcomed or not. No scent came with the wind, what he was hoping for, since he could have determined who it was with just that.
Marc shrugged lightly, and then paced over, and with each step found himself finding out who it was. Aurora. He smiled, glad to see his friend, and still dribbled the soccer ball over. Playfully, he passed it to her gently, wondering what she would do, as he finished jogging towards her. "Hey, I didn't know you were here," he said, smiling brightly. Of all the lights, he saw Aurora the most, which wasn't hard to imagine; Kelly and the others were the best warriors, and always were off fighting for the orb. Marc was more tranquil than that, but sometimes he did like to spend time with the others. "What's up? Where's everone else?" he inquired softly, halfly expecting the result to be another orb appearance that he had missed.

Aurora became aware that he knew she was present as he turned toward her, pacing in her direction with the soccer ball. He probably knew before that, but that was the first sign that she caught. Quickly, she caught the ball as it was passed in her direction, smiling lightly as she watched him approach at a jog. "Hi."she responded. "I didn't know if you wanted company, so I just thought I'd watch and wait."
Though she considered many of the other lights her friends, she had the most affection for Marc simply because she saw him the most, and because in some way she found him the most interesting. The others were all warriors, but he seemed different. It was something she thought worth getting to know, something that kept her interested in him just as much as because she cared about him. "Fighting with some of the darks."she answered his question absently and almost lazily, clearly bored with the thought but willing enough to tell him whatever he wanted to know.

Marc was smiling as he stood next to Aurora, watching as she caught the soccer ball like a pro. He gently put the toe of his cleat underneath the ball, and pulled it up, extracting the ball from her and feeling it hit against his chest, before it dropped to the ground. His smile was still present on his face, his sapphire eyes glistening, especially after getting rid of so much of his energy beforehand with his sprinting. In the intense heat and humidity, his body was still extremely hot, so he made no notion of going after his shirt. He placed his foot back ontop of the ball, and leaned against his bent knee, relaxing a bit to get some of his energy back. "It's all right. I was just practicing a bit; nothing much else to do, it's too hot," he said, laughing a bit.
As she replied to his earlier question, he groaned a bit, and straightened up. His face showed a pout and a disgruntled look for a few moments, and then went back to his normal, emotionless face. "Another orb, huh? It always seems like we're fighting for those orbs now..." he complained slightly, rolling the ball forward and backwards with his ankle, pouting slightly. "I mean... when was the last time, besides the meeting, that you sat down with Kelly, or anyone? I haven't seen anyone else for a while... They're always off fighting..." he said, and stopped the momentum of the ball, sighing. He was a bit upset that he hadn't seen any of the other for a while, especially since it seemed like he was being anti-social. "Not to say that I'm not glad to see you," he added, smiling for a moment, before his emotionless appearance came over him again.

Pale green eyes glinted lightly as the ball was slipped from her grasp, warm smile brighting her features slightly. Spending time with Marc never failed to amuse and/or interest her. It was never boring, and she always learned something new. "That makes sense, I guess. You're very talented."she told him honestly, with only a hint of admiration allowed in the tone. She did admire those who had both passion and skill for a sport, for anything really, and especially Marc. Though, of course, Aurora knew better than to say so for fear it might be taken in the wrong context-or even the right one.
Anyway, she didn't dwell on the thought long as she caught sight of his expression in regards to the orb battles. "Yeah..It does sort of seem that way."she agreed readily, fully aware that the orbs did seem to be taking up a massive amount of everyone's time. But they were important. Not that she was going to say so when he was obviously not happy about it. "I know..It has been awhile, but things will settle down for awhile once this battle is settled, I'm sure." At his next words, she smiled almost playfully and uttered a comment in such a tone as to try and cheer him up, to assure she understood what he meant, and simply just to lighten the mood. Reaching out, she ruffled the top of his hair in a playful, friendly way and said, "I know, I know...As much as you love my company it's just not the same, right?"

Marc smiled once again, and this time didn't turn the smile away. He enjoyed playing soccer, though he didn't think he was very good. Not enough to be a star payer anyways, but it was his dream to get there. Being a master at his own version of "elemental soccer" played in his mind again, and he stifled a chuckle only barely. "Thank you very much, Aurora," he said, wondering if she really meant it. It wasn't that he doubted her, but there were some people who told the truth... and others who lied, just to make someone feel good. Aurora classed, to him, as the honest type, but one could never be sure. All he knew is that Aurora sounded like she was making an honest opinion, and that was good enough for him. "You want to try?" he asked, dribbling the soccer ball slowly in between his feet.
"I hope things settle down," he said, and stopped dribbling just in time to kick the ball up with his toe, then collide it with his knee, and have it settle on his forehead. He wobbled uncertainly for a few moments, studying how his body reacted to the slight movement of the ball, as whenever the ball moved, he jerked, causing another movement. It was so funny how he did this every time, yet the ball did not drop. However, at her last comment, Marc jumped, headed the ball, and caught it in his arms heavily, and adjusted it to fit on his hip for a minute. Her hands ruffling in his hair, he smiled, and replied, "Well, I love your company. It's just... well... Y'know, I've only talked to Kelly a few times in general, and it seems to me that you're more leader of the lights than she is. I talk to you way more than I do her." He sighed gently, and then shrugged again. "Maybe nobody's ever said anything, so she doesn't realize it...."

"You're welcome, Marc." she responded cheerfully, glad that he seemed to appreciate the compliment however true it was. Gaze followed the motion of the ball thoughtfully, silently admiring the skill until his next words reached her ears. "Well...sure, I guess."she agreed, slightly hesitant but willing to see if she could figure it out. "If you don't mind teaching me."
Because she had already given her opinion on things settling down, she only nodded in agreement to his response. Hopefully things would, and everyone could get to know everyone else. Or to catch up in the case of certain others. "Really?I never thought of it that way."She mused thoughtfully. It hadn't occured to her that she did seem to talk more to Marc than anyone else did, but then she had gravitated toward him from the beginning and held on. "That's entirely possible she doesn't realize it."she agreed.

He slowly dropped the ball to the ground, smiling. "What I'm here for. You coached me about my powers, now I can coach you on soccer," he said, and gently kicked the ball to her. Marc had always liked helping out people, especially if he had a lot of advice, or a lot of experience, in whatever he was suddenly urged to teach. He never had any younger siblings, so he took the few chances he had to help other people head-first. "Now, kick it back to me, as hard as you want, don't feel like you'll hurt me," he smiled, and backed up about ten feet, just in case.
As she answered his previous reply, he nodded, silently agreeing with what he had said. "It's true. I mean, Kelly's a great leader and all... but... well, I'd like to spend more time with her, and the other lights might want to as well," he sighed, waiting for the ball to come towards him. He was sort of spacing away from the present, getting sucked into his thoughts, as he looked up to the sky. He hadn't noticed until now, when he was paying attention to the things around him instead of his conversation, that the humidity had dropped, and some clouds had darkened. 'Is that why I was able to call the wind earlier? The weather's worsening?' he thought, looking puzzled towards the graying clouds. He was brought back to earth from her last comment, and nodded again, this time looking ready for anything.

Aurora smiled at his words, grateful that he was so willing to teach her. It was true that she had tried to coach and help him, but it hadn't really occured to her to use it as any sort of resource, or to get grattitude. But she did appreciate that he remembered her help, and was willing to help her too. Nodding lightly, she kicked the ball carefully. Not hard, but only enough so that it rolled in his direction. The aim was off abit though, and so it ended up a few feet off the to left of him rather than at his feet as she had planned. But well..she was a beginner, after all.
"Yeah, I understand that. It makes sense that everyone would want to talk to her, and I'm sure she'll make time when she can."she answered absently, though her concentration on the topic of conversation was waning as she became more interested in learning the points of soccer. It didn't look hard, but she knew it had to be atleast a little complicated to require so much effort.

Marc smiled as she nodded, still ready for the ball, his blue eyes watching intently. He was ready to get the soccer ball, no matter which way it went, and he was watching the ball closely. As Aurora kicked it lightly, he saw the direction where it was slowly crawling to, and sprung. His legs had been tightly flexing, and the muscles pushed his body forward, as he trapped the ball with his feet, and it took all of his power not to send it flying back. He was so used to playing on a field, without people usually, that when there was someone to play with, he normally got very excited. He nodded a reply to what she had said, and then started to dribble in between his feet.
"Good... not too bad, but not pro either," he said, smiling to show that he was only teasing with her. "Now, when you pass to me, use this part of your foot," he said, lifting up his cleat and banging hard on the inside curve with his hand, "That's all you need to know for now; I'll show you different kicks when you've got the passing down." He kicked the ball to her with the inside of his left foot, being able to use both of his feet to kick, shoot, and dribble, and waited again. His adrenaline was starting to kick in, but he was starting to get a little cold now. He took a glance towards the sky, before looking back down, and wondering, 'The weather changed drastically....'

Aurora listened to his words and nodded lightly, watching and noting the side of his foot that he told her to use and how he kicked the ball. "Okay."she agreed. Careful to use the side of her foot, she attempted to pass the ball to him. Watching as her foot connected with the ball and as it rolled off in a direct route to Marc, she smiled. "How's that?"she asked.

Marc was starting to notice the weather more and more now, suddenly noticing the drafts that were coming towards him more frequently. Though Marc had conjured up slight wind storms before, without actually knowing what he was doing, but he had gotten better with his powers, and he would have known if the wind was being caused by himself. 'That's not me...' he thought, looking up towards the sky, still waiting for Aurora to kick the ball back to him, as he studied the clouds sceptically. His brows furrowed, and he noticed how fast they were scoring across the sky; too fast to be normal.
As Aurora asked him something, he snapped back to attention, and caught the ball with the corner of his dark sapphire eyes, and jumped at it, trapping it with the inside of his foot, and kicked it lightly. He didn't kick it hard enough to go anywhere, but it was hard to resist the temptation of playing an actual soccer game. "Nice, that was better," he said, and smiled towards his friend. He then positioned his foot so that his toe was almost in the dirt, watching Aurora. "Now, when you're ready, you can try a stronger kick. By using your laces," he said, pulling his toe from the dirt, and hitting his shoelaces that were tightly tied on his cleats, "You can kick the ball harder, which is what you use for distant shooting." And with that, Marc pulled the ball back with his foot, and back-pedalled, catching up with the ball, being about forty feet from Aurora. With a smile, he yelled, "Here it comes!" and shot with his laces, hoping he didn't put too much force in it, which he doubted that he did. There wasn't much air on the ball, or velocity, so he didn't expect it to slam into her, or anything closer than just land at her feet.

Aurora smiled back in response to Marc's words, pale eyes bright with the compliment. "Thanks."she replied, then quieted to listen and watch as he began to teach her something else. Gaze followed the motion of his foot closely, not wanting to miss or mess up at all, if possible. She wouldn't ever be as good as Marc, she knew, but she didn't want to seem inept either. Patiently, she waited as he backed up and set up the kick some distance from her. When the ball came in her direction, she watched it closely and smiled with relief when it slowed at last to a gentle roll into her waiting foot. Concentrating carefully, she tipped her foot so that her toes rested upon the soil, then lifted her foot slightly and butted the ball with the laces of her shoe. She was careful of how much force she put behind it even though she really doubted she could hurt Marc with a soccer ball. But still, a girl couldn't be too careful.

Marc was starting to get anxious, feeling a knot in his stomach. What was with him today? He shook his head lightly, watching his blonde hair wave in front of his eyes; it was getting a bit longer now. Slowly, as he watched the ball roll to Aurora, he pulled the wind towards him, trying to get a taste of what was going on for himself. He called it to his palm, and did so for a few seconds, until he looked at it, and saw wet droplets of water all over his hand. 'Rain?' he thought, and looked quizzically up towards the sky, then back down to Aurora.
As the ball came towards him, he felt a few drops of rain sprinkle on his top-less form, and he almost lost the sight of the oncoming ball. She didn't kick it hard enough to hurt him, but he was almost caught off guard; he must have stepped forward a bit when he had kicked. He caught the ball on his thigh, bouncing it lightly, watching the patterns with his eyes. He could feel the prickling of the starting sprinkles of the rain, and looked up to the sky. It had clouded over, darkly, in the time that he had been out here, without him noticing much besides the heat becoming less and less intense. The humidity was there, wearing him down, but it was raining; that was for sure. "Do you want to keep practicing?" he yelled to her, letting the ball drop to the ground, feeling the rain start to make his shoulders and head slightly wet.
